The Miscommunication Madness That Kills Online Dating
The Miscommunication Madness That Kills Online Dating
Description
Alright, let’s talk about the crazy mess that is miscommunication in online dating. Now, if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably swiped left and right more times than you care to count, all while trying to navigate this wild world of dating apps. But let me tell you, the biggest thing that ruins the vibe is miscommunication. And trust me, it’s all too common out here.
First of all, let’s talk about these text conversations. You’re texting back and forth, and everything seems chill. But then… poof, they send one of those “haha” responses, and you’re left wondering if they’re actually laughing, or if they’re just trying to keep the conversation going because they don’t know how to end it without seeming rude. Sis, we’ve all been there. You start overthinking every message: “Was I too forward? Did I come on too strong?” It’s exhausting, and the worst part is, you’ll never know unless you ask—and if you ask, now you're the crazy one.
Then there’s the classic misinterpretation of intentions. You think you’re just being casual, talking about your day, and the next thing you know, they’re telling you how they’ve never met anyone like you and how they’re falling for you. Hold up, fam, we were just talking about lunch. This is where things get tricky—because you didn’t sign up for a relationship, you were just trying to get to know someone, but now the pressure’s on, and you’re stuck trying to explain you’re not looking for anything serious… and that’s when the whole vibe dies.
And let’s not forget those late-night texts. You send a quick “Good night, talk soon,” but somehow that gets interpreted as “I’m just not that into you.” Come on, my dude, I’ve got a life. And the next thing you know, you’ve been ghosted. No warning, no explanation. Just crickets.
The worst part? Miscommunication ruins what could have been something real. We’re out here trying to make connections, but all these mixed signals turn everything into a guessing game. Instead of real conversations, we’re playing these text message mind games that leave us drained.
At the end of the day, I just want someone who knows how to communicate. Like, keep it simple: if you’re into me, say so. If not, let me know so I can move on. We’re adults. No need for all the drama, all the confusion. I don’t have time for that.
So, my advice to y’all? If you can’t communicate clearly, don’t even bother. The miscommunication madness that kills online dating is real, and I’m over it. Let’s keep it real, or keep it moving.

Any yet, it’s the “misogynists” in the manosphere who are appalled by what happened. Pick a site at random and you will find a post condemning this travesty. On the other hand, pick a feminist or mainstream site and……crickets.

Off-topic but beyond parody.
A lingerie company is ginning up controversy by having “women tech leaders” posing in their underwear while “coding”. Allegedly sexists and their racist pals are foaming at the mouth over this latest attempt to close the coding gap between girls and boys.
A Controversial New Ad Shows Female Tech Founders And CEOs Coding In Their Underwear
I don’t think any one thing can fix anything. We need more women in C-level positions. More women starting companies. More women making millions. More women in office. More empowered images of women wearing lingerie,” she added. “I just think that the answer isn’t to deny that as women we have female bodies that are beautiful and to be celebrated in addition to our brains.
The photos and captions are a scream. I can’t mock it. You don’t mess with perfect, and this essay is a work of art from start to finish.

Uncle Elmer,
The photos and captions are a scream. I can’t mock it. You don’t mess with perfect, and this essay is a work of art from start to finish.
Once again :
‘Feminism’, far from helping women, has instead exposed the full extent of female shortcomings (moral, intellectual, economic, parental, civic, spiritual, technical) far more visibly than was ever possible before ‘feminism’.

Change the Way You Date and Go Out in NYC
Change the Way You Date and Go Out in NYC
Description
Dating in New York City can feel like navigating a jungle—exciting, chaotic, and, at times, overwhelming. As a single woman living in the city that never sleeps, I’ve realized that the way we approach dating can either make it an exhausting chore or an adventure worth looking forward to. By rethinking how and where we date, we can transform the experience into something refreshing, meaningful, and fun. Here’s what I’ve learned, including three of my favorite NYC date spots that have made all the difference.
One of my favorite spots for a first date is The High Line. It’s casual, scenic, and perfect for walking and talking. Strolling through the elevated park lets you skip the awkwardness of sitting across a table and staring at each other. Plus, the changing art installations and stunning views of the Hudson River provide plenty of conversation starters.
Another favorite is The Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side. Sharing a historical experience is a great way to connect on a deeper level, and it sets the stage for meaningful conversations. Afterward, I like to hit one of the nearby speakeasies for a cocktail—because what’s dating in NYC without a bit of adventure?
One of the most memorable dates I’ve organized was at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. It’s a food lover’s paradise, with dozens of vendors offering everything from ramen burgers to artisanal ice cream. The casual, open-air vibe took the pressure off, allowing us to relax, explore, and bond over our mutual love of food.
Choosing thoughtful locations like this, where there’s room for exploration and spontaneity, helps create memorable experiences. It’s not just about checking off another date—it’s about building connections that matter.
One time, I organized a date at Astoria’s Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden. It was a bit of a wildcard choice since we didn’t know each other well, but the laid-back atmosphere, live music, and communal seating turned out to be perfect. We ended up joining a group trivia game with strangers, which added a fun twist to the night.
These moments reminded me that dating doesn’t have to follow a script. Some of the best connections happen when you step out of your comfort zone and allow the city’s energy to guide you.
Whether it’s a walk on The High Line, an exploration of Smorgasburg, or an evening at a beer garden, choosing unique and meaningful experiences adds depth to your dates. It’s not just about finding the right person—it’s about enjoying the journey along the way.
So, the next time you plan a date, think outside the box. NYC offers endless possibilities, and with a little creativity, you might just turn an ordinary outing into an unforgettable adventure.

1. Get Creative with Your Date Spots
The classic “dinner and a movie” routine can feel uninspired after a while. In a city as vibrant as New York, why not make your dates as exciting as the skyline? One of my favorite spots for a first date is The High Line. It’s casual, scenic, and perfect for walking and talking. Strolling through the elevated park lets you skip the awkwardness of sitting across a table and staring at each other. Plus, the changing art installations and stunning views of the Hudson River provide plenty of conversation starters.

Afterward, I like to hit one of the nearby speakeasies for a cocktail—because what’s dating in NYC without a bit of adventure?
2. Focus on Quality, Not Quantity
With dating apps making matches just a swipe away, it’s easy to get caught up in the numbers game. But juggling multiple dates in a week can quickly lead to burnout. Instead, I’ve learned to focus on fewer dates with people I’m genuinely interested in, making the experience far more rewarding.
3. Embrace the Unexpected
NYC is full of surprises, and dating here should be no different. Embracing the unexpected has led to some of my best dating experiences.
Conclusion: Rethink Dating, Rediscover Connection
Dating in NYC doesn’t have to be a daunting marathon of coffee dates and small talk. By changing how and where you date, you can rediscover the joy of connection and make every outing something to look forward to.Whether it’s a walk on The High Line, an exploration of Smorgasburg, or an evening at a beer garden, choosing unique and meaningful experiences adds depth to your dates. It’s not just about finding the right person—it’s about enjoying the journey along the way.
So, the next time you plan a date, think outside the box. NYC offers endless possibilities, and with a little creativity, you might just turn an ordinary outing into an unforgettable adventure.

2. It would be unwise to craft your final judgments on New Slaves and Black Skinhead right now because one thing you can predict about Kanye is that a Kanye song the first time you hear it and the album version of a Kanye song are likely to be completely different. But, in the chance that these were the final versions of the songs, I have to say that I wasn’t expecting to like them as much as I do. My opinions aren’t based on whatever “messages” the songs were trying to convey. I just like the way each sounds.
3. I loved College Dropout, but I do not miss College Dropout Kanye or want College Dropout Kanye to “come back.” For those who do—and, apparently, there are many—I don’t know if you realize how selfish that is. It’s also impossible, both literally (obviously) and figuratively. You’re asking someone to recreate memories and music so you can feel how you felt when it was initially created. You don’t want College Dropout Kanye back. You want who you were when College Dropout dropped to come back. Neither will ever happen.
Thing is, even if this were to happen—if Kanye or whoever was able to transform back into a long dead version of themselves just to replicate their art—you would not be able to replicate how you felt when first hearing it. Just as they’re not the same person, you’re not either, which is why it’s imperative to create new memories and associations instead of trying (and failing) to relive old ones.
4. From a personal perspective, I am almost completely neutral about Kim and Kanye’s relationship. And, by “I am almost completely neutral about their relationship” I mean “I am neither rooting for nor against them, but if a gun was pointed to my head and I had to choose, I’d root for them. I’d then ask Panama why he pulled a gun on me.”
But, as Rembert Browne alluded to last week, it’s near impossible to listen to a Kanye song or album now and not wonder what influence Kim has had on his work. For this reason, I think being with her may end up being the worst musical decision he’s ever made. I wont pretend to know what’s going on inside of Kanye’s head, but he’s always struck me as an artist who’s more concerned with product, legacy, and praise than popularity. Not only does he want to be the best artist, he wants everyone to recognize him as such. (Ironically, this maniacal focus on product and legacy has made him extremely popular. There’s a positive message here somewhere that I’d note if I cared about positive messages.)
But now Kim Kardashian’s shadow looms over his work. Regardless of how good (or bad) this album is—and regardless of whether their relationship has any influence at all on the quality of his work and the frequency that work is produced—Kim’s name will be mentioned in every longform review and article about it, and her presence will be thought of when people assess this album. She, he, and them together are too transcendentally (and, perhaps, intentionally) bizarre for this not to happen.

What sounds the premise for an urban fairy tale has been the reality for Jessica Porter, 29, Marguerite Matthews, 29, Dahlia Haynes, 31, and Racquel Jemison, 27—a reality made even more unlikely when reading statistics about Black people and STEM PhDs.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, Black people are 12% of the U.S. population and 11% of all students beyond high school, yet they received just 7% of all STEM bachelor’s degrees, 4% of master’s degrees, and 2% of PhDs. And, out of 5,048 PhDs awarded in the physical sciences, such as chemistry and physics, 89 went to Blacks—a number that gets even smaller when removing Black men.
Yet, Porter (a Boston native and current senior sensory scientist at Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati) met Matthews (who matriculated at Spelman and is currently doing a post-doc at the University of Portland) in 2006 while both enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh’s neuroscience PhD program. In 2010, they met Jemison, a Morgan State grad and doctoral student at nearby Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) who will receive a PhD in chemistry this fall. A couple months later, Jemison introduced them to Haynes, a post-doctoral research associate at CMU who received her PhD in chemistry at Clemson University.
The ladies soon grew close, forming the nexus for a “crew” of grad students and young professionals who migrated to the Pittsburgh-area for work or school.
EBONY.com recently had the opportunity to sit down with them and discuss Black women in science, the importance of early STEM education, and the value of having a strong network of friends.
EBONY: Cases such as the one with Kiera Wilmot reinforce the idea that, from a lack of administrative support to Black students not given the same allowances other students are to experiment, there may be substantial social and institutional barriers preventing Black women from entering and excelling in science-based fields. Do you agree with this assessment?
Dahlia Haynes: This question reads unclear. I am not aware of this case but what allowances are we as Black women not getting? I, for one, have received great institutional support to excel in science based fields. I do believe however that it is because of the (White) people I had around me who were heavily invested in diversity. Socially, unfortunately is that there remains very few of “my people” in the STEM fields. This starts from an early age however. Where I’m from in particular, the only successful careers that were popularly known were the “Huxtables” (medical doctor or lawyer). To overcome this, being scientists has to become socially more acceptable at younger ages.

Sofia? When did I ever do this? Add reading comprehension to the list of things you need to work on. given that English is your second language, and all.
If you mean LSB, that is a different story. She is 27-28, and already had a pre-nup situation that we don’t need to get into here.

Oh man… peace everyone, c’mon.
First of all, what’s with the hate on LILGRL? So what if someone doesn’t always 100% of the time use perfectly precise language? I have a horrible habit of editing my comments and posts after re-reading and realizing the bajillion different ways they could be misinterpreted. Have you guys ever studied the psychology of witnesses? It’s a proven fact that people remember different memories differently at different times… so y’all need to stop with calling my girl a liar K.
I think many men here are having the same knee-jerk reactions that women have when they first read a site like Roissy. Maybe some of y’all can’t put yourself in someone else’s shoes, and realize that you explain why someone acts a certain way but that person mentally is looking at it differently?

I’d heard mention of it last week when somebody mentioned some video for Kony. Now, I obviously listen to too much hip-hop because I immediately thought it was some sort of King of New York upcoming tribute to the Notorious B.I.G. Or some wayward reworking of T.O.N.Y. by Capone-N-Noreaga. And because I didn’t care, I let that b*tch breathe. Again, too much hip-hop. But after seeing the critical FB message I watched the entire video, all roughly 30 minutes of it, at work, and found myself in awe at this organizations presentation AND plan to bring attention and awareness to a cause.
Let’s forget the actual target of the cause for a second. Let’s talk about the method. It’s sheer brilliance. In today’s social media driven landscape, Invisible Chidlren, created a video where they showed the birth of a movement from inception to action. And that my friends is impressive. And it’s one that takes full advantage of the way youth move in this nation now from creating viral campaigns and utilizing that message to effect change to the point where the President takes notice and does something entirely based on their work and advocacy. That is how you do something. That’s how you make a difference. I must say that I was completely impressed and inspired by the dedication it took to be both patient enough and believe in something enough to stick with it for the long haul. And the method of creating propoganda to make the man’s name a household name isn’t even obnoxious like some of the Occupy camps that popped up. Interesting that immediate reaction was to draw comparisons. I’m human. Sue me.
Joseph Kony, one of the leaders of Uganda’s Lord’s Resistance Army, is undoubtedly a bad man. And while there’s NO way that any 30 minute video could fully capture the complexity of the issue of Kony’s crimes against humanity and the creation of child rebel soldiers, what this video did was create an entire awareness to possibly as many as 74 million people who watched the video on YouTube and who knows how many others who’ve read about it since last week (March 5).
Obviously, that creates controversy. Which is where the criticisms start to come in (all easily Google-able). Is it too little too late? Some say that Kony is nowhere near as much of an issue as he was 10 years ago in Uganda. Maybe true, but he’s still on the ICC’s list of wanted criminals. Some say this video has done more damage than good by giving Kony the heads up that the USA and Uganda are looking for him and will force him to change up his methods of hiding (he’s on the run). Others claim that this organization isn’t clear and transparent about their actual charity work, etc. A claim that the organization itself hasn’t been shy about addressing. Others think the video had the wrong focus. And some folks are claiming some type of “why do you people care now when you didn’t care about anything else….”

But, the person actually making that purchase allows himself to be gamed by a person’s name instead of making an honest assessment of the actual product. And, not only are they lying to themselves, they perform the worst type of self-delusion—one where a person is completely aware of the lie they’re telling themselves, but they’re completely sold on selling it to themselves anyway. They’ve fully bought in to the bullshit, and when you buy bullshit that you literally saw drop out of a cow’s ass, you have no integrity. You make yourself a slave to a person instead of what that person creates and/or what they represent.
Anyway, I downloaded Kanye West’s Yeezus Friday, and have listened to it approximately 10 times since. It is an incoherent, jumbled, rhythm-adverse, pretentious, pseudo-intellectual, racist, and misogynistic mess. It may very well be the first major label hip-hop album that caused listeners actual physical pain while listening to it.
I’m also in love with it.
The irony isn’t lost on me.
Despite the cultural relevance and ubiquity of the Trayvon Martin case, I haven’t written about it since the trial started. No blogs, no articles, and not even any tweets or status messages.
This silence has been intentional. I have a sizable emotional stake in the outcome, and keeping up with and writing about the daily ebs and flows of a court case that may not end for weeks—and, most importantly, may not end how I want it to end—would burn me out. I’ve read many of the news stories and opinion pieces spawned by it, but writing—and the thinking/re-writing process that usually accompanies it—is just more of an investment for me.
I decided to break my silence tonight after a friend forwarded a story about the case to me that, all things considered, may very well be the saddest thing I’ve ever read.
From “Trayvon Martin Was One of the Few Guys Who Didn’t Tease Rachel Jeantel”
Rod Vereen (Rachel Jeantel’s lawyer): “This was traumatic for her. I was listening to the radio yesterday and there was some, you know, they had a town hall meeting somewhere here in Miami. And one of the, I think they had psychiatrist, psychologist saying, oh, yeah, it is clearly obvious that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. I differ with that. I beg to differ. What she went through was traumatic, yes. You know, but she is dealing with it as best she can. She lost a good friend.”

The Emotional Rollercoaster of Finding Mr. Right Online
The Emotional Rollercoaster of Finding Mr. Right Online
Description
The only reason that men have been considered for paternal leave is because feminists see men having an undue advantage in the workplace
by dint of an employer giving regard to the fact that a young man, without paternal leave will be working his socks off while his wife stays at home and possibly has to be retrained. With men getting leave both will have to be retrained and that becomes expensive for an employer and the latter might then choose a women for the job rather than the man.Surely this is the feminist thought behind it.
Great piece, Bill. Someone really needed to say this.
But can you link a stat in the sentence “White on black rape, for example, is nearly nonexistent, according to the FBI”? I’ve heard this, but think it would be more effectively communicated with statistics behind it.

The rate of black women being raped by white men is so low it cannot be represented down to the tenths place as a percentage of overall rapes and is therefore either zero or extremely close to zero.

It’s not only feminists, as leftoid media in general hasn’t had much to say about this. Very revealing of their mindset.
Also, piss and shit on the British authorities for acting this way, they should be executed.

The speed at which the British government has agreed to Dhimmi themselves is just amazing…
